[Marketing] Execution 1.05 | Social Media Strategy

Our strategy for growing the GiveShop community begins with building our digital presence. The goal is to share relevant updates and information, and connect with our audience on social media.
In the last month, we have been working on developing our social media strategy. We started by doing research on social media algorithms and trends, conducted competitive analysis, looked at insights and analytics, and determined the KPIs and metrics that would be most important to us. We also spent a lot of time thinking about how we want to show up on these platforms — who we want to reach, what we want to share, and what our audience want to see. Then we worked on our messaging and defined our tone of voice and visual presence for these platforms.

We wanted to make sure that we can reach our audience on platforms that would most inspire giving. We decided to focus our efforts on Facebook and Instagram for the most reach, and LinkedIn to build our professional network. We created a content calendar to plan out our posts for the month. Having a visual content calendar helps us to ensure that we’re creating posts that are consistent in our messaging and visuals. It also helps us to focus on creating posts that would be both informative and relevant for our audience. In addition, we want to ensure that we were providing frequent enough posts to keep GiveShop at the top of our audience’s feeds.
Our goal is to share GiveShop’s goals and mission, provide education on causes, and introduce the team early on. Over time, we hope to be able to provide more behind-the-scenes content on our development process. There will be more updates from projects and features on volunteer opportunities. We also look forward to sharing the impact that our community is making.
Earlier this month, we launched our presence on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Meanwhile, we are still working on recruiting a Social Media Ambassador to help us with content creation and we’re already starting to plan our content calendar for September.
We are just getting started and hope to create and delight our community with relevant and engaging content. We hope you will join us there and follow along on our journey.
